What barriers stop you from bringing more science into your child's life? We are here to help remove them!
According to a 2021 report by the National Science Foundation, children are falling behind in science. The report states: "There has to be an all-hands-on-deck approach to emphasize the importance of high-quality math and science education, beginning in the elementary grades."
Science Rockstar Kids gives you ALL the tools you need that will get your child excited about science NOW--and keep them excited!
Does teaching science make you squirm?
How to choose projects? How to encourage and help guide those wild & wonderful questions that kids come up with? How to troubleshoot? Let us help out! The projects were developed by me, Professor K, an enthusiastic scientist who has over 30 years experience teaching kids at all levels.
Do you have a growing pile of one-time-use science gadgets?
Science Rockstar Kids doesn't rely on a shipment of plastic specialty equipment to teach science. Rather, it provides a space for creative experiences with household items and open-ended kid-guided projects that develop critical thinking skills and creativity.
Are your kids getting REAL science experiences?
Science does NOT always work as expected - but in this program we celebrate learning no matter the outcome! As your child works through each project, they are encouraged to diverge from the initial plans in order to answer their "What If?" questions on the spot. This is a great program for Unschoolers.

Hi, I'm Karen McFarlane Holman, Ph.D. and I strongly believe that:
Learning science can happen ANYWHERE, by ANYONE.
Meaningful and FUN science experiments do not require having special equipment.
Gaining CONFIDENCE in science is connected to doing experiments first-hand and feeling free to explore.
FUN & CONNECTIONS are strengthened when kids explore together with other children and adults.
Details! What you can expect from this outstanding program
The themes are fun, engaging, and relevant! EVERY WEEK we show you everything you need to carry out super cool and open-ended science experiments. They are inspired by a theme, such as "Potions and Motions" in October and "Wind & Water" in March.
Project Prep Videos
Parents consistently say how big of a difference the pre-project videos make, saying that it energizes their kids to prepare. Whether it's because of the corgi cuteness or the excitement of Professor K, it's a great kickoff to each experiment! Check out this video showing the first couple minutes of a Prep Video from February 2021.

Some kids focus on doing the experiments with no writing at all. Others want to learn to write notes and observations. There are a lot of different types of learners out there! We also include a "What If...?" question at the end, to imagine beyond what was done in the project.
Materials are all easy-to-find household items to maximize reuse and minimize waste.
One of the best parts about science is sharing ideas and discoveries! In our Private Facebook group, questions are asked, answered, and celebrated. It's so much fun when we share findings, too! We have cultivated a positive and inclusive space there.
See what other kids asked about, too!
Along with having everything you need to set up and carry out the experiments, you can follow along with videos of other children doing the same projects!
